When to Work With a Professional EFT Tapping Practitioner
1. Trauma
There are times when it’s actually not a good idea to do tapping by yourself. Those include working on highly charged issues like trauma of death, abuse, terror, horror and violence. EFT works wonderfully on those issues, but it requires sensitivity, skill and experience to avoid re-traumatizing.
Also, doing EFT yourself on your most vulnerable issues is like performing a root canal on yourself. Very difficult to see what you’re doing and maintain distance and perspective.
2. You Want Change Now
Another reason to get professional help is to greatly speed up your progress. Your sessions with the professional will make a big impact – and be sure to ask for homework to be doing between sessions.
I love working with people who are ready to make big changes in their life. One of the ways I work is to work as and EFT coach and partner with you for change. We do some EFT together, over phone or Skype, and you do lots of EFT on your own. We work out a home tapping plan, that I support you in doing.
This is a great way to make big changes, fast, while saving money. Click here to learn more how I can help you transform your life.
3. Root Causes
You may also need help getting at the roots of your distress. It can take some detective work to find and clear all the original causes of today’s issues.
4. You Want to Get Good Fast
Like me, you may just feel like you need more instruction to be really good at doing EFT. A few months of working with an EFT practitioner can greatly boost your skill and confidence. This is critical if you want to become an EFT practitioner yourself.

p.s. There is one movie I highly recommend to anyone getting started with EFT.
It’s called The Tapping Solution. Why do I recommend it? Because you’ll witness transformation in 10 people and KNOW that EFT works.

Hi Natalie,
I was just really hoping you could help me! I was wondering how to use EFT to relieve repetitive thoughts. What should I say when using it? I keep asking myself the same questions in my head that are rediculous and I know are unrealistic however I do not know how to stop thinking about them! Its driving me crazy! I could really use your help! Thank you!
Kelly, EFT is great for those repetitive thoughts that keep us feeling a little nuts.
Use the thought you hear repeating as your tapping phrase. Do that for at least one round.
Then tap what you would like to do or say regarding this issue. Let those petty, vindictive or childish thoughts come out as you tap. Don’t sensor or hold back. That tapping should be somewhat calming.
Then ask yourself some questions to get to the root, because it’s almost certain that the root of these repetitive thoughts are in your past, most likely your childhood. Here are some questions that come to mind.
When have I felt like this before?
What does this remind me of?
What happened to me as a kid that’s something like this?
When a memory pops up, tap on that memory – even if it seems unrelated. The memory emerged for a reason. Trust that.
You can use the tell the story technique to clear the emotions from that memory. In case you don’t know that technique, here’s a video demonstrating it. Tell the Story EFT Technique .
You can go further with this, but it would be better to work with me in person to do the deeper work.
Love to hear how this works for you.
Natalie
Antoinette, good question.
What’s most important is that you are fully tuned in to the issue – especially the thoughts and emotions around it. If you’re tuned in – it won’t matter whether you are saying your tapping statements aloud or silently.
Carol Look gives a great example. She says you can’t edit a document on your computer if you haven’t opened it.
Hi I’m new to tapping and I wanted to know if you have to repeat your statements out load or if will still work if you repeat your statements in your mind while tapping?
I have recently hearda presentation of EFT from Carol Look. I am anxious to get started with tapping but I have a question. If it advisable to tap for more than one thing at a time? Or, is it better to tap for a particular issue for several days and then move on? I’m a newbie at this. Thanks. Sue
Sue, you can do it either way. Tapping for one thing for several days will surely lead to breakthroughs in that area. Tapping for a variety of things over several days will also be beneficial in all those areas.
What’s most important? That you are actually becoming more and more aware of your blocks, areas of resistance and unpleasant emotions. Tap on what you notice.
At first, when new to tapping, it can seem like you have way too many issues to clear them all at once. Just take it slowly, feeling heartened and confident that each tapping session is healing you, clearing your blocks to brilliance. It is such an awesome tool and you’ll notice positive change immediately.
Love your website. I love “self help” and wonder how it is that I’m just discovering tapping? I guess everything presents itself when it’s supposed to present! I’m so excited!
Stephanie, so glad you did discover tapping! I’m curious how you discovered it.
I too love “self help” and EFT is the most effective, easiest, do-it-yourself method I’ve ever come across (and I’ve tried many).
Let’s see….can I remember how I made the discovery? I listen to Lisa Garr’s “The Aware Show” online, and I listened to a replay of a gentleman that talked about and demonstrated tapping. Then I went to YouTube & Google and the rest is history! I am just surprised @ the amount of info out there and that I hadn’t run across it previously. I love your website because it’s so user-friendly! Thanks for sharing yourself with me & the cyber universe:-)!
Stephanie, thank you so much for appreciating how my website is user-friendly. Doing the programming and website stuff is pretty challenging for me. I’m getting ready to upgrade the look, feel and functionality of the site – to make it even more user-friendly. Have hired someone to help me, of course.
But in the mean-time, your appreciation helps me feel better about how it is now.
Correction! It wasn’t a gentleman on The Aware Show, it was Carol Look!!!! My memory is fuzzy — gotta tap on that:-)!
Carol – what a great intro to EFT. She makes it look so easy. Carol’s one of my favorite mentors. Take a class from her if you ever get the chance. She usually teaches to huge audiences, but I got her with a group of around 30 once. Great experience.
