When you are a woman entrepreneur, you have to do everything you can to get and stay on a roll in every aspect of your life – mental, emotional, physical and spiritual.

The challenge of succeeding on your own is so much bigger than holding a j-o-b. I write a lot here about how to take responsibility for your mental/emotional/spiritual self.

I thought it was time I gave some space to the physical.

Your diet has a HUGE impact on your business success.

What you put into your mouth can help you be a more pure vessel for intelligence, inspiration, strength and confidence – or it can clog you up, slow you down, cloud your vision and make you anxious.

Here’s one simple thing you can do daily to help you succeed in business:

Start Your Day With a Green Smoothie

Here’s why.  Smoothies are:

Cleansing  –  Your body is in cleansing mode until around 11am.  You extend and support the cleanse when you start your day with cleansing, easy to digest food. Your cells say “yay!”

Delicious – Or can be, if you don’t overload them with things that are supposed to be really good for you.  I learned this the hard way :)

Energizing – Green smoothies give you energy and do not put heavy demands on your digestive tract, leaving you with more energy for doing that awesome thing you do.

Healing – When your cells are clean, they can focus on healing and not just on protecting.  Detoxifying your body is an essential step to being healthy.

Here are some things every smoothie I make contains:

green things:  veggies like zucchini, cucumber, celery, lettuce, Vitality Super Green (from Body Ecology), ChlorOxy (liquid chlorophyll).

quality, organic fat – flax, hemp, whole avocado, olive, coconut

fiber – Super Seed, chia seeds

live cultures – Inner Eco or my own home-cultured coconut water kefir or 1-2 TBS cultured veggies, a couple capsules of probiotics (open and empty into blender)

sweetener – stevia only (I eat on the Body Ecology Diet – no sugar)

something with a bite – lemon, cayenne, fresh ginger

Celtic sea salt – I find I like them MUCH better with a 1/4 teaspoon of quality sea salt

Here’s the recipe for the Green Smoothie I’m drinking as I write this:

Zuch Cuc Berry Smoothie

1/4 zucchini

1/4 cucumber

3 frozen Bing cherries, unsweetened

1/4 C wild blueberries

1/2 lemon, yellow rind trimmed off, white pith remaining

1/4 avocado

1/2 scoop Super Seed by Garden of Life

1 heaping scoop Vitality Super Green by Body Ecology

2 TBS Inner Eco

1 squirt Chlor Oxygen

8 drops Stevia

1/4 tsp Celtic sea salt

EVERYTHING organic. When your intention is cleansing, healing and energizing, eat only the highest quality, organic food.

At first – YUCK!

At first I didn’t think my body would like starting my day with a green smoothie.

I at times have low blood sugar and used to wake up wanting protein.  So the first month, I started my day like this on faith.

Then I thought I wouldn’t want this first thing on cold winter mornings.

But 8 months into this, I LOVE starting my day this way.  Eating a big, heavy breakfast, early in the morning sounds clogging, heavy and just WRONG.

So if you’re new to green smoothies for breakfast, I suggest you just give it a try.

See you how your body, your mind, your emotions and your spirit feel. See if a green smoothie doesn’t become your breakfast of entrepreneurs.
