One of the effects of doing a lot of EFT tapping technique practices is that it heightens your awareness of your own thoughts, beliefs and emotions. If you’re wanting to become continually more awake and aware, that’s a good thing.
This week, I had a pretty big surprise about me.
More about the surprise below, but if you want to jump right to the audio I made, click the blue link below. It’s the Tap With Me audio I made this morning, while walking on the beach in San Clemente, California.
Tap With Me: I’m Not a Leader Beach Tapping
What I Learned When Google Shot Me Down
One of the goals of publishing on the internet, is to get to the top of Google pages for various search terms.
The primary search term, or keyword, for this site is the phrase EFT tapping. After five months of steady writing and doing the other things you do to get ranked by Google, I crept up in the rankings for this phrase.
For the first month or so, I was impossible to find. Then I moved into somewhere in the 900’s, which means you had to look 90+ pages deep into Google to come upon my site.
As you can guess, I didn’t have any readers at that point.
But my ranking kept crawling up as I continued to write and work. After a few months, I got to #11 and stayed there for a few weeks. That’s the top of Google’s page 2.
Not many people dig that far when they’re searching.
Well, as you might guess by the direction of this story…
…I finally made it to position Number One in Google. I couldn’t quite believe it, and kept expecting to drop back down, as Google is a fickle thing.
I felt relief!
I was relieved that I was no longer Number 1. What?
Yep, I felt relief – and that really caught my attention. It also got me to do some inner questioning.
You see, I’ve learned from all this inner work, that if beliefs don’t match goals, we wont’ sustain them. We’ll find a way to sabotage our success.
It didn’t take too much digging to find out the source of my relief. It’s a familiar theme for me. I’m the youngest of 6 kids so I still have some lingering limiting beliefs around that.
Here are some of the limiting beliefs I heard when I asked inside:
I’m too little to act big.
I can’t be the leader.
I’m not old enough.
I’m not smart enough.
I’m not skilled, experienced, educated enough.
I’m not as good as those other guys (I’ve actually met or worked with the people who own the websites in positions # 2 & 3).
I don’t deserve to be on top.
I don’t have what it takes to be on top.
I’m not a leader.
I’m not leadership material.
I’ve sold my Tucson, Arizona house in Milagro Cohousing and finally bought my ticket to Manila, Philippines – yipee! I leave on September 16. (And, I’m very excited to be flying Business Class on Cathay Pacific, known as one of the world’s best airlines.)
Walking on the Beach This Morning
I’m currently in the southern California beach town of San Clemente, house sitting for Des, my niece. And there’s a wonderful beach walk down lovely streets from her house, to a trail down to the beach.
I took it this morning, with the intention of tapping on yesterday’s discovery, as I walked.
Down on the beach, it was just me, some surfers, seagulls and the waves. Love it!
And I took my iPhone. I knew my iPhone could record voice, but I only discovered when I got home that I could put the recording here for you!
So, here’s the I’m Not a Leader Beach Tapping I made this morning on the beach. You’ll hear the waves crashing, the train go by and maybe gulls overhead.
I hope you enjoy this tapping technique for ridding yourself of the belief that you aren’t a leader. I sure did!
To your leadership!
p.s. If this audio helps you with your leadership issues, I’d love it if you’d drop me an email or a comment.
